From Abu Hurairah who said that the Prophet ﷺ said: 

أسْعَدُ النَّاسِ بشَفَاعَتي يَومَ القِيَامَةِ، مَن قالَ لا إلَهَ إلَّا اللَّهُ، خَالِصًا مِن قَلْبِهِ، أوْ نَفْسِهِ. 

‘The happiest of the people with my intercession on the Day of Judgement is the one who said ‘La ilaha ‘illa Allaah’ sincerely from his heart or from his self.’ 

[Saheeh of Bukhari]

The Dunya is cursed

Day 11  - The Dunya is cursed* 

"الدنيا ملعونةٌ، ملعونٌ ما فيها إلا ما ابتُغِيَ به وجهُ الله".

From Abul Darda from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 

"الدنيا ملعونةٌ، ملعونٌ ما فيها إلا ما ابتُغِيَ به وجهُ الله" 

‘The Dunya (worldly life) is cursed and whatever is in it, except that by which the Face of Allaah is sought.’ 

[Collected by Tabarani & Al-Albaani graded it Hasan Lighayrihi in Saheeh Targheeb wa Tarheeb no. 9] 

A Deed Done Sincerely and Seeking Allaah’s Face

 Day 10 – A Deed Done Sincerely and Seeking Allaah’s Face* 

إنَّ اللهَ عزَّ وجلَّ لا يَقبَلُ مِنَ العَمَلِ إلّا 

ما كان خالِصًا

From Abu Umamah who said:

A man came to the Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- and said: ‘How about a man who takes part in a battle seeking a reward and to be remembered, what does he get?’ 

The Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- said: 

"لا شيءَ له" 

‘He gets nothing.’ 

The person repeated what he asked three times and the Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- said: 

"لا شيءَ له" 

‘He gets nothing.’ 

Then the Messenger said: 

إنَّ اللهَ عزَّ وجلَّ لا يَقبَلُ مِنَ العَمَلِ إلّا ما كان

 خالِصًا وابتُغيَ به وَجهُه 

‘Indeed Allaah -Azza wa Jal- does not accept a deed except that which was done sincerely and seeking His Face.’ 

[Collected by Abu Dawood, Nisa’ee and Al-Albaani graded it Hasan in Saheeh at-Targheeb wa Tarheeb no. 8 & Silsilah Saheehah no. 52] 

Shirk in Secret

Shirk in Secret

 From Mahmood bin Labeed who said, the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- said: يا أيُّها النّاسُ إيّاكم وشِركَ السَّرائرِ ‘O you people! Beware of secret Shirk.’ They said: O Messenger of Allaah! And what is secret Shirk.’ He -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- said: يقومُ الرَّجلُ فيصلِّي فيزَيِّنُ صلاتَهُ جاهدًا لما يرى من نظرِ النّاسِ إليهِ فذلِكَ شِركُ السَّرائرِ ‘A man stands and prays, he beautifies his prayer striving for what the people look towards him, that is secret Shirk.’ [Collected by Ibn Khuzaimah in ‘Saheeh Ibn Khuzaimah’ & graded Hasan by Al-Albaani in Saheeh Targheeb no. 31] For an explanation of this Hadeeth, MP3 & video clip go to 🎥🎞📽🎬📺 : https://followingthesunnah.com/2023/03/31/day-9-shirk-in-secret/

Allaah Looks at Your Hearts

 *Day 8 Allaah Looks at Your Hearts* 

يَنْظُرُ إلَى قُلُوبِكُمْ وَأَعْمَالِكُمْ

From Abu Hurairah –RadhiAllaahu anhu-  who said: the Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam –  said: 

إنَّ الله لا يَنْظُرُ إلَى صُوَرِكُمْ وَأَمْوَالِكُمْ، وَلَكِنْ يَنْظُرُ إلَى قُلُوبِكُمْ وَأَعْمَالِكُمْ 

‘Indeed Allaah does not look at your forms and your wealth, however, He looks at your hearts and your actions.’ 

[Saheeh Muslim] 

In another wording: 

إِنَّ اللَّه لا يَنْظُرُ إِلَى أَجْسَادِكُمْ و لا إِلَى صُوَرِكُمْ وَلَكِنْ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى

قُلُوبِكُمْ وَأَشَارَ بِأَصَابِعِهِ إِلَى صَدْرِهِ 

‘Indeed Allaah does not look at your bodies nor at your forms, but looks at your hearts.’ He pointed to his chest.

Feeding your family

 *No. 7 – Bite Size Ramadan 1444 AH -2023* 

 *Day 7  - Feeding your family* 

وَإِنَّكَ لَنْ تُنْفِقَ نَفَقَةً تَبْتَغِي بِهَا وَجهَ الله

From Saad bin Abi Waqqas –RadhiAllaahu anhu- who said that the Prophet –sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- said: 

وَإِنَّكَ لَنْ تُنْفِقَ نَفَقَةً تَبْتَغِي بِهَا وَجهَ اللَّه إلاَّ أُجِرْتَ بِهَا حَتَّى

مَا تَجْعلُ في فيِّ امرأَتِكَ 

‘Indeed you do not spend wealth desiring by it the Face of Allaah except that you will be rewarded for it, even the food you place in your wife’s mouth.’ 

[Bukhari -  Kitab al-Eemaan] 

From al-Miqdam bin Maadi Karib from the Prophet: 

ما أطعمتَ نفْسَكَ فهو لكَ صدَقَةٌ وما أطعَمْتَ ولدَكَ فهو لَكَ صدَقَةٌ ، ما أطعمْتَ زوجتَكَ فهو لَكَ صدَقَةٌ ، وما أطعَمْتَ خادِمَكَ فهو لَكَ صدقةٌ 

‘Whatever you fed yourself then this is you giving charity. Whatever you fed your son then this is you giving charity. Whatever you fed your wife then this is you giving charity. Whatever you fed your servant then this is you giving charity.’

Sincerity is Eemaan

  *Day 6 - Sincerity is Eemaan 

يا رسول الله! ما الإيمان؟

From Abu Faras -a man who was from the Asslami tribe - who said: 

‘A man called out and said: 

يا رسول الله! ما الإيمان؟ 

‘O Messenger of Allaah! What is Eemaan?’ 

The Messenger said: 

"الإخلاص". 

‘al-Ikhlaas (sincerity).’ 

In another wording: the Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- said: 

"سلوني عما شئتم". 

‘Ask me whatever you wish.’ 

A man called out: O Messenger of Allaah! What is Islaam?’ 

The Messenger said: 

"إقامُ الصلاةِ، وإيتاء الزكاة". 

‘Establishing the prayer and giving Zakat.’ 

The man said: ‘Then what is al-Eemaan?’ 

The Messenger said: 

"الإخلاصُ". 

‘Al-Ikhlaas (Sincerity).’ 

The man said then what is al-Yaqeen (certainty)? 

The Messenger said: 

"التصديقُ". 

‘Affirmation and belief.’ 

[Collected by al-Bayhaqi and he said it was Mursal, Al-Albaani graded it Saheeh in Saheeh Targheeb no. 3]
